Horizon League Final Player WAR Rankings

(I will be crunching the numbers and giving complete player rankings for EVERY D1 conference, using conference only stats and win/loss results as each conference regular season ends. The “write ups” will follow pretty similar formats, since I don’t really have the time to spend much time with each write up. Will obviously tweet out results as usual as soon as each post is up. At the end of each conference write up, I will try to include links to all conference write ups that have already been posted – and maybe an ETA for the next conference.)

What we may garner from the above results….

Player of the Year: Kay Felder of Oakland, #1 in Wins Above Replacement (6.0) and WAR/40 (6.7). Alec Peters of Valparaiso had the edge in HnI (164) and Points Added to average conference lineup per 70 possessions (+8.9).

1st Team All Conference – with Kay and Alec we should add Cameron Morse of Youngstown State, Mark Alstork of Wright State, and Jordan Fouse of Green Bay.

Players who topped the conference in something or another in terms of rating subsets:

Kay Felder, Oakland: #1 in Handles/Passing Rating (Assists & Turnovers, +6.8 PA)

Alec Peters, Valparaiso: #1 in overall Offensive Rating (+10.5 PA) and overall Scoring Rating (+9.8 Points Added)

Vashil Fernandez, Valparaiso: #1 in overall Defensive Rating (+5.8 PA), Rebound Rating (+5.3 PA), and Defensive Stops Rating (steals, blocks, & fouls, +4.9 PA). He might be the most obvious conference defensive POY choice in the entire nation.

Drew McDonald, Northern Kentucky: #1 in Free Throw Production Rating (+3.1 PA)

Jalen Billups, Northern Kentucky: #1 in Two Point Production Rating (+7.9 PA)

Max Hooper, Oakland: #1 in Three Point Production Rating (+7.3 PA)
