NCAA Historical Player Rankings

The 2016 & 2015 seasons are spreadsheets (with a FAQ sheet to help with questions on all the ratings), so people can sort results however they’d like. Someday I’ll convert ALL the past seasons to spreadsheets dating back to the 96-97 season. There are so many errors in historical box score data, there’s only so much I can do finding the errors & fixing them before I push it aside for months at a time as I work other projects.

    1. Thanks, I try. I really expect to have every college player from 1997 & on rated and posted here before the season ends. Current college player ratings should start late December when the team ratings have settled a little bit.

        1. Honestly, it is a ton of work correcting all the older season data (MANY mistakes on player data across the 300+ teams every season). So, I only have partial ratings done on seasons I don’t have posted here – just the past teams (all checked & corrected if need be) that had a player(s) who ended up playing in the NBA their first year after college. I had to do that in order to get my 1000+ players needed for the college to NBA conversions I use for player career projections (draft model & such).

That being said – I NEED to get all those older seasons completely done & posted – I’ve been wrapped up in so many other projects, many of which I have never posted at this site. I also need to get all the past NBA playoff players ratings done & posted, as well as older era NBA data. I will try to get all this completed in the near future, before this college season ends. Thanks for checking in!

  1. A man well ahead of his time, Robertson’s lack of a title doesn’t take away from his impact on the game and must-see nature he brought to the NCAA tournament whenever he laced up the sneakers. If guys like Magic and Robertson paved the way for evolution at positions, Chamberlain helped innovate the defensive side of things—he was often triple-teamed.
